Macclesfield Garden Festival, ArtSpace Textile Bombing Project

Do you knit or crochet? Are you a textile artist? could you make some textile, knitted or crocheted flowers for ArtSpace’s contribution to the Macclesfield Garden Festival in May (19th to the 21st)?

We’re hoping to smother the Market Place with flowers made from yarn and textiles.

Now Jean Westbrook has returned from her travels, our textile contribution to the Macclesfield Garden festival in May can really get going.

Textile Bombing project:  We’re aiming to cover the market place with yarn and textile flowers.  Jean Westbrook will be wrapping things in the Market Place (Trees, street furniture, benches etc.) with sections from the Giant Cardigan on Wednesday 17th May.  To join in:

  • either take your flowers directly to the market place and attach them to any yarn wrapped object,
  • bring your flowers along to ArtSpace and put them in the boxes in the sewing room, Jane or Jean will be around on Tuesday evenings 18:30 to 20:30 or Thursday 11th May 12 noon till 17:00.
  • or contact us at MaccCommArtSpace@mail.com or via our facebook page.
