Hidden Loss Exhibition 4th–18th November 2016, open this weekend 12 noon till 2pm

Don’t forget, ArtSpace is open this Remembrance weekend from 12 noon till 2pm for our Hidden Loss exhibition

Next week we are open usual ArtSpace hours including our new winter Thursday afternoon 12 till 5 session.

The works in this mixed media exhibition are the fruit of the ArtSpace  Hidden Loss Project.

The project, prompted by the 100th anniversary of the first world war, takes a different perspective on WW1, exploring less commonly noticed impacts of war: The Hidden Losses.

The exhibition gives personal and group responses to the theme of Hidden Loss.  Some works address the effects of the privations of war on the home front, when shortages affected food and other supplies and women were needed in the factories.  A group work considers the working animals used on the front line.  The exhibition juxtaposes origami cranes of hope with an intricate model of the destruction left in the landscape by the trenches.

Exhibition opening hours:

Mondays 7th and 14th November 7 – 9pm

Tuesdays 8th and 15th November 12 noon – 9pm
