Dismantling Saturday 11am – 2pm 30th January

Do you like taking things to pieces?  Come and help Jane take stuff apart to make into a float for the Barnaby parade. Or just drop in to work on your own project.

Sessions will be roughly once a month on Saturdays at ArtSpace from 11 am till 2 pm.

First session this Saturday 30th January.

Take old electrical equipment like this:

Generation Arts Project

Macclesfield Community Artspace has added a whole load of possibilities to the arts activities already on offer:  we have launched our Digital Arts Project – and you are welcome to join in for free!

We have created a Digital Art Room with computers, copiers, software and scanners to allow you to play around with photography, produce pictures and posters and learn more about how to use digital resources for creativity.

We look forward to seeing you during any of our general drop in times and have also arranged a series of dedicated sessions for those who would welcome some support.

The Generation Arts sessions are OPEN TO ALL and we particularly invite older people, those inexperienced with digital technology, younger people (12 – 22 year olds), especially any out of school or at risk.

The aims of the project are:

  • to enhance the lives of people in the Macclesfield community,
  • to encourage people who are isolated and excluded to meet and work together,
  • to help isolated or excluded people get involved in art, develop skills and confidence in mixing with others.

The project will make digital arts activities available to people using the ArtSpace facilities at any time, and pilot a weekly term-time activity aimed at young people out of school and older people (to benefit from cross generational mixing, support and skill-sharing).
