We’re off folks, our 4 intrepid contestants are beavering away on the first challenge, Jean has started her button challenge to sew 60 buttons on in 60 minutes and Trish is leading the toy making activity for dropper-in-ers.
Cake will be released shortly and the kettle is on. Pop in and see what we’re up to!

If you love sewing (or would like to have a go)
Join us at ArtSpace for our very own Sewing Bee
Dressmaking and Alteration challenges, Embroidery, Toy making and Button activities
Followed by a Fashion show, Judging and Prize Giving
Invite your family and friends, refreshments will be available.
For The Contestants there will be:
10.00 – 12.30 Dressmaking Challenges, choose between making a Child’s garment or an Apron.
You can practise beforehand (drop in to ArtSpace if you haven’t got space at home). Bring what you need from home and don’t forget your sewing machine if you need one! (we do have a few machines and some resources you can use at ArtSpace – please ask!)
1.00 – 2.30 Alteration Challenge – you will be given a garment and some materials to alter the garment as much as you can!
2.30 – 3.00 Fashion Show and Judging– an opportunity to show off your work: Invite your friends and family to come along, refreshments will be available.
For Family and Friends and those for whom the Challenges sound like too much hard work, try an Activity instead: ALL DAY – there will be something for you to do – embroidery, appliqué, button sewing, soft toy making – bring and share your projects or just have a go at something new!!
