Just to let you know that ArtSpace is closed for the evening (7-9pm) on Wednesday 24th June, so there will be no drop in or Fabric Fanatics.

 

The Afternoon drop in is running as usual from 1pm

If you love sewing (or would like to have a go)

Join us at ArtSpace for our very own Sewing Bee

Dressmaking and Alteration challenges, Embroidery, Toy making and Button activities

Followed by a Fashion show, Judging and Prize Giving

Invite your family and friends, refreshments will be available.

For The Contestants there will be:

10.00 – 12.30 Dressmaking Challenges, choose between making a Child’s garment or an Apron.  
You can practise beforehand (drop in to ArtSpace if you haven’t got space at home).  Bring what you need from home and don’t forget your sewing machine if you need one! (we do have a few machines and some resources you can use at ArtSpace – please ask!)

1.00 – 2.30 Alteration Challenge – you will be given a garment and some materials to alter the garment as much as you can!

2.30 – 3.00 Fashion Show and Judging– an opportunity to show off your work:  Invite your friends and family to come along,   refreshments will be available.

For Family and Friends and those for whom the Challenges sound like too much hard work, try an Activity instead:  ALL DAY – there will be something for you to do – embroidery, appliqué, button sewing, soft toy making – bring and share your projects or just have a go at something new!!

Please bring a packed lunch

MIDSUMMER POP UP PARADE! TODAY FOLKS!

Come and join in the Midsummer Madness!

10.00a.m. Macclesfield Market Place – parade workshops: art, music, costume-creation, props and parade ideas. ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED but feel free to arrive in costume or with ideas (anything goes!) Surprise hand held items will also be provided for you to customise.

1.00 pm  Walking Parade from the Market Place around Macclesfields pedestrianised streets.

Come along on your own, with friends or in a group and join in the fun – suitable for all ages.  No theme, no set costumes, dress how you like: Surprise us with your Carnival ideas!

You are welcome to just turn up on the day but it will help us to know how many are coming especially if you are bringing a group so let us know by email: louise_lewis@me.com

ArtSpace Quiz Friday 13th November 2015

The next ArtSpace Quiz is in November come along and join the mayhem!

Friday 13th November 7:00-9-00pm at Artspace. Gather some friends or family and join us for another extravaganza of question rounds and activities – this is no ordinary quiz, we’ll test you to the limits of human knowledge, skill and endurance (well you might not know all the answers or be able to play The Great Escape on a kazoo). Teams of 4 or 6 or another number, £3 per player, book early to be sure of your place as this is fast becoming the world’s most popular event. Bring a picnic and drinks for your team to share.
