The You Too! Project
On Saturdays during April we took ArtSpace on the road running free community arts events around Macclesfield, following these we are hosting a series of Free open sessions at ArtSpace for anyone to attend, those under 14 years must be accompanied by an adult .
People sometimes feel that art is just for the privileged few. We hope to let ArtSpace prove this is wrong! Everyone appreciates art of one kind or another and everyone has creativity. The You Too! project is for anyone who wants the chance to do arts and crafts. That includes you – yes , You Too!.
On three Saturdays in April, from 11.00am to 3.00pm we took our Road Show around different parts of Macclesfield:
On April 11th we were at The Church of the Resurrection, Church Way, Upton Priory.
On April 18th we visited Hurdsfield Community Library, 7 Hurdsfield Green.
And on April 25th it was the turn of Community Building, Mayfield Avenue, Moss Rose.
At each session local people were able to meet the ArtSpace team and have a go at arts and crafts including photography, making mosaics and art from junk etc. Artists were on hand to provide advice and to help people to create their masterpieces. There was a street games artist on hand too, also badge making, origami and many other small crafts.
Art is for everyone
Here are a few pics from the road shows and workshops.
